Our History

Tweed Coast Youth Service (TCYS) is a community-based organisation founded in 2012 to provide support and services to young people on the Tweed Coast in Northern NSW, Australia. Originally named Cabarita Youth Service the organisation was started by a group of local volunteers who recognised the need for a dedicated youth service in the area due to the number of increasing mental health concerns.

TCYS began as a small grassroots organisation, but quickly grew to become a vital resource for young people in the community. In its early years, the organisation provided a range of services including out of school activities, holiday programs, and referrals.

As the organisation grew, TCYS began to expand its services to include wellbeing programs, mental health support, and outreach programs for the local youth. Today, TCYS is a leading youth service provider in the Northern NSW region, led by a board who work tirelessly to support the needs of young people in the community.

Over the years, TCYS has received funding and support from various sources, including local and state government, community organizations, and private donors. These partnerships have enabled the organisation to expand its services and reach more young people in need.
